Death of Mrs. Atkinson
Mrs. Elizabeth Wallace Atkinson, aged 86, and a native of Scotland, died at the home of her son, Henry, on Allegany Street last night at 7:30 o'clock. Mrs. Atkinson had become very feeble of late and for a week or two past her death was expected at any moment. She is survived by her sons, Jasper, Henry and John, and daughters, Mrs. John Price, Mrs. Jas. Hotchkiss. Mrs. Atkinson was a great-great-grandmother and was "Grandma" Atkinson to everyone who knew her. Her descendants are many in Lonaconing. She was a devoted Presbyterian and a consistent Christian.
Grandma Atkinson was a lover of children--anybody's children--and the little ones will miss her. She was tenderly cared for by her sons since the death of her husband, Hugh Atkinson, and spent the later years of her life with son, Henry, and daughter, Mrs. Price.
