Jacob Atkinson Buried
Jacob Atkinson, aged 45, son of Jasper Atkinson, Washington Street, this place, was killed Friday in a head on collision on the Union Railroad, near Pittsburgh, on which he was an engineer.
He had been in the employ of the railroad nearly 20 years, having been promoted successively from brakeman and fireman.
The funeral was held from the home of his father Sunday afternoon, with the Rev. Edward J. Travers, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were member of the Ancient Order Knights of the Mystic Chain, and Valley-Council No. 26, Junior Order United American Mechanics.
Besides his father, he is survived by the following brothers and sisters. Miss
Lizzie Atkinson, Mrs. Anna Anderson and John and Morris Atkinson at home, Mrs. Blake, Richwood, West Virginia, Mrs. Smith, Pittsburgh and Mrs. Nesbith, Dawson, Maryland.
