BENNETT ATKINS DIES AT HOME

Bennett Atkins, 74, a carpenter, died at his home at 3 p.m. yesterday after an extended illness.

He was born in Dallas county, Tex and came to the Indian Territory in 1890, settling near Marlow. He was a Spanish-American war veteran and served in the Philippines for three years.

Atkins is survived by his widow, Addie Atkins and six children. They are Mrs Bonita Thompson and Mrs Evelyn Reynolds of Duncan;Irwin and Mike Atkins, Randolph Atkins, Corpur Christi, Tex, and Mrs Geneva Levy, Tuscaloosa, Ala.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Rangeley-Holden Funeral chapel. The Rev Thurmond George of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Duncan.

Bearers are Cecil Blake, Jimmy Hale, Vince Pollard, G T Swanson, A L Gentry and Glenn Bullard.

He was married 20 Jun 1900 in Ryan, Okla, I.T.
