Sudden Death in Church of Capt. Zenas Atkins of Chatham
Capt Zenas Atkins, a well known citizen of Chatham, died very suddenly at West Meriden Conn.on Sunday week.He was in the Baptist church in that place attending the Sabbath school,and had been addressing the scholars.He had finished speaking and was just in the act of taking his seat when he fell on the chair.The pastor of the church , Rev. Mr Walker, immediately went to him,but in less than five mniutes he had ceased to breathe.Capt. Atkins was a very exemplary,as well as a n energetic business man,and his sudden demise will cast a shadow over many a household.
