Harlow Cameron Atkins, 95, died Thursday, April 1, 2010 in Frances Marion Manor Nursing Home.

He was born October 10, 1914 in Atkins. He was a longtime faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Marion. He had been an employee of Atkins Motor Company and later retired from Parks Belk where he had worked for over 18 years.

Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Hazel Duncan Atkins of Marion; one daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and David Archer, of Marion; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Jane Atkins of Forest, and Dennis and Sharon Atkins, of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 3, at 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Reverend Jonathan Jonas officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Marion. Family will receive friends Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 115 South Church Street, Marion, VA 24354. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
