Carlton Monroe "Boo" Atkins, 65, of Orange, died Saturday, September 26, 2015, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.He was born on November 14, 1949, in Charlottesville, and was a son of the late Joseph Monroe Atkins and Pearl Elizabeth Powell Atkins Strother.

He was a Decon Tech for Dominion Power and also farmed. "Boo" was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife of forty years, Martha Arlene Berry Atkins of Orange; two daughters, Tracy Lynn Carter and husband, Kevin of Gordonsville, and Katina Lenee Williams and husband, Wayne of Louisa; a son, Justin Kyle Atkins and wife, Jillian of Waynesboro, Pa.; a brother, Phillip Warren Atkins and wife, Teresa of Orange; and five grandchildren, Lauren Stinespring, Shane Atkins, Ronald Lee Bowers Jr., Casey Monroe Bowers, and Hannah Flippin.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, from the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Orange, with interment to follow in Graham Cemetery with military honors. The Rev. Bryan Harris will officiate. The family will recieve friends on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, from 6 until 7 p.m. at the funeral Home.The family has requested that memorial contributions may be made in his name to the; St. Judes Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is in charge of arrangements.
