Mrs. William H. Atkinson, 94, died Friday, July 16 [headstone reads July 19, 1971], 1971, in a local nursing home.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Holy Cross Episcopal Church with the Rev. James W. O'Connell officiating. Interment was made in Evergreen Cemetery with Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home in charge.

Travis George Wright was born August 1, 1876, at the family plantation home at Kiomitia on the Red River, daughter of Captain Samuel Johnston Wright and Harriet Ann Maclin Wright.

Captain Wright was a grandson of Claiborne Wright, pioneer of this area.

Mrs. Atkinson was married to Will Atkinson, an investment banker, his death accuring in 1920.

Their only son, William Maclin, died on September 2, 1952.

She was a half-sister of the late Mrs. Ione Wright Scales and the late George T. Wright, both of Paris.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Mrs. George T. Wright, 830 Bonham; these nieces and nephews: Mrs. L. M. Emmanuel, Pomona, California; Wright Scales, Glendale, California; Mrs. Ted Lewis, Dallas; Mrs, L. H. Raines, Cuernavaca, Mexico; Clalborne Wright, Mount Vernon, and Travis Wright, Houston.
