Pierz - Coelestin F. "Cel" Athman, 63, Pierz, died on Sunday at St. Mary's Villa, Pierz.

He was born Oct. 14, 1922, in Lastrup to the late Bernard and Catherine Athman. He married Marcia M. Happke, Sept. 7, 1954 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Pierz. He was self-employed as a co-owner and operator of the Pierz Iron Works from 1952 until the present. He was a member of the Pierz Volunteer Fire Department and St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Pierz.

Mr. Athman is survived by his wife, Marcia M. Athman; two sons, Loren C., Pierz and Clyde J., St. Cloud; two daughters, Mrs. Rick (Debbie) Powers, New Richmond, Wis. and Gwen M. Athman, Morris; six grandchildren; five brothers, Norbert, Edward and Virgil Athman, Pierz, Bernard Athmann, Little Falls and Irvin Athmann, Portland, Ore.; and five sisters, Mrs. Emil (Marie) Banach, Pierz, Mrs. Irene Gaebel, Lastrup, Mrs. Raymond (Bernadine) Loidolt, Pierz, Mrs. Evelyn Branson, Minneapolis and Mrs. Arnold (Alice) Poser, West Allis, Wis.

His parents, two brothers, Alex and Victor Athman died earlier.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Pierz with the Rev. Al Stangl officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
