Randy Julian Atenicov Age 33, a resident of Hernandez passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2008 as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Atencio; maternal grandparents, Mary Frances Salazar and Jose Miguel Maestas; paternal grandparents, Jose Maria Herrera and Rosalina Herrera; paternal great-grandmother, Tomasita Atencio; maternal great-grandmother, Lupe Salazar; uncles, Lencho Maestas, Tony Salazar, Leo Gonzales, Johnny Herrera, Felipe Salazar and Abelino Atencio; aunts, Joan Maestas and Tomasita Ortega and cousin, Michael Gonzales, and Annette Ortega. Mr. Atencio is survived by his parents, Lolo and Jennie Atencio of El Duende; son, Jericho Atencio; wife, Janet Trujillo; stepchildren, Katelynn and Peter Casados of Hernandez; mother and father-in-law, Ernest and Ida Trujillo; sisters, Marcella Coriz, Debbie Trujillo, Tina Trujillo and Gerald Coriz; 2 sons and 2 daughters from a previous marriage to Sonia Porter, Julian, Zachary, Jasmine and Tristen Atencio all of Nambe; sisters, Lee Carmona and husband Jorge, Christa Naranjo and husband Sammy all of El Duende; God-parents, Paul and Bobby Rivera of Española; aunts and uncles, Joann Avila and husband Rosaleo of Chamita, Darlene Maestas and husband Humberto of Alcalde, Loretta Gonzales and husband Lupe of Colorado, Alfred Herrera and wife Evlyn of Espanola, Dorthy Sanchez and husband Manuel of Chamita, Marie Sanchez of Rio Chama, Don Herrera and wife Elena of Rio Chama, Tia Ester Villa of El Duende, Florain Atencio of Chamita, Sebedeo of El Duende; uncle, Tony Atencio and wife Lourdes of El Duende; nephews and nieces, Eric, Andrew, Justin and Josalee Carmona, Jeffrey and Brian, Sammy Lawrence and Jenay Naranjo, all of El Duende, very good friends, Jeff and Marcha Vigil of El Llano and numerous other relative and friends. Serving as pallbearers, Julian Atencio, Danny Atencio, Jeff Vigil, Sammy Naranjo, Gerald Coriz and Rosalio Avila. Honorary pallbearers named are, Rudy Salazar, Emilio Atencio, Ernest Trujillo, Andrew Carmona, Juan Carlos, Jimmy, Robert and Joey Rodriguez. The Atencio family has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home of the Española Valley.
