Mrs. Ida Mae Aten, 75, of Vermont, widow of John Aten, who spent the greater part of her life in Oakland township, died Monday morning at the home of her son, Leslie, near Rushville, where {she} had been the past week. She had been in failing health the past six weeks. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the residence in Vermont. Burial was in the Vermont cemetery. Ida Mae aten, a daughter of Alfred and Sarah (Bechtel) Jackson, was born May 29, 1871, in Boone county, Iowa. On December 31, 1891, she was joined in marriage to John Aten, who preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons, Oscar, of Oakland township, Leslie of Buenavista township, and Verne of Vermont; and five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a sister, Mrs. Hattie Fair, of Vermont.
