Son of Austin Ira Aten(1862-1953)and Imogen Boyce Aten (1867-1957)
Note: The Imperial Valley American Legion Post is named after Boyce, who was an officer in the US Army leading a platoon of infantry in the Aargonne Forest in France in 1918. Boyce (who had attended Stanford Unv.) was killed by shrapnel from exploding shell in October 1918, just a month before the Armistice. He was so honored because being the first WW I member of the military from the Imperial Valley to be killed in the conflict.
