Mary Elizabeth McCoy, 80, one of the oldest residents of Laclede County, died at the home of her son, Will, with whom she lived.
Aunt Elizabeth, as she was known by her many friends, was ill for the past two weeks, but confined to her bed only the week before her death.
Elizabeth was born Feb.4, 1855 on the old John Atchley farm, six miles northwest of Lebanon. She lived in Laclede County all her life, except a couple years spent in Iowa with her children.
Funeral services were conducted at the family home with Rev. D.E. Fields officiating.
Burial was in Atchley Cemetery, near where she was born.
Five children survive her; Will McCoy of Lebanon, Iva Walstrom of Shelby, IA., Worley Atchley of Des Moines, IA., Andrew Atchley of Maine, OK .and Dr. Atchley of Ames, IA.
