Mrs. Alice Maud Atchison, wife of Patrolman Robert D. Atchison, died of pneumonia Tuesday afternoon at the home of a son, Granville Atchison, in University City. She had been failing in health for several years and during the past five years had resided at her son's home.
The body, accompanied by patrolman Atchison, who went to St. Louis Tuesday but arrived there after his wife's death, and Mr. and Mrs. Granville Atchison, was brought here on a noon train today and will remain at the Walther Funeral Home until 1 o'clock Friday afternoon, when a short service will be conducted there and another service at 2 o'clock at McClain's Methodist Chapel. Rev. J. F. Gastian, pastor, assisted by Rev. W. E. Hicks, pastor of Red Star Baptist Church, will have charge of the services and burial will be in the chapel cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews of Mrs. Atchison.
Mrs. Atchison was reared in Cape Girardeau and spent all but the last years of her life here. her husband, a patrolmanon the police force, is assigned to the Red Star suburb. Besides her husband she is survived by the one son.
