Edmond Atcheson was born in South Carolina, but moved to Alabama as a child. Moved to east Texas (Kaufman County) in the mid 1850's. Moved to Mason County, Texas to be with a daughter (Julia Ann) during the early 1900's. Served in the Civil War.
His first wife, and mother of all of his children, was Martha Ann Jones (1825-1865). She died and was buried in Kaufman County, Texas (gravesite unknown). He then married a recent widow, Margaret Jane Merrill Ellis.
