Constance Marie Cascio Aston, 88 and a 58-year resident of Nacogdoches, was called away to her Lord on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 27, 1925 in Shreveport, La. Connie loved her family above everything else in this world.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, James "Jim" Aston, Sr.; her parents, Rosario and Concetta Marzullo Cascio of Shreveport, La., and formerly of Cefalu, Sicily; and her brothers, Albert, Sammy and Peter of Shreveport.

She is survived by sons, James E. Aston, Jr. of Nacogdoches, Michael Aston of Kingwood, TX, and his wife Diana; David Aston of Buda, TX; and daughter, Phyllis Allen of Missouri City, TX, and her husband Mark; grandchildren, Erin Aston, Brian Aston and wife Mary Kathryn, Blake Aston, Brandi Barringer and husband Larry, Jared Allen, John Allen, Jordan Allen, James G. Aston, and Elizabeth Aston; and great-grandchildren, Caroline, Thompson, Brooks, Ashton, Preston, Joshua; brothers, Johnnie Cascio, Angelo Cascio, Anthony Cascio and wife Martha, and George Cascio; sisters, Camille Matassa and Rosina Cascio of Shreveport and Mary Jane O'Brien of Belle Plaine, Minn., and her husband Donald; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Connie was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nacogdoches and belonged to the Ladies Catholic Guild. She dearly loved her church and her faith and her many church friends. She also made many acquaintances through her many years of employment at Boyette's Jewelry Store on Main Street.

In lieu of flowers memorials are requested for Sacred Heart Building Fund.

Pallbearers will be her 9 grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are David Yates of Nacogdoches, Diana Aston, and Mark Allen.

Visitation will be held at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a rosary to follow.

Funeral Mass will be officiated by the Reverend Monsignor James Young on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2508 Appleby Sand Road in Nacogdoches, with internment beside her dear husband at Sunset Memorial Park.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the caring nurses, doctors and staff at Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches.
