Mrs. Ela Mae Aspinwall, age 76, of Patterson died Sunday evening at the Satilla Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Pierce County.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mage M. Aspinwall, her parents, Amos Sloan and Avery Gunter Sloan, a son Bobby M. Aspinwall, a grandson Anthony Allen King, and a sister Ealon Daniels.
Mrs. Aspinwall was a homemaker and a member of Offerman Baptist Church.
She is survived by her 2 daughters Shirley Peacock of Patterson and Barbara Morgan husband Joe of Blackshear, 8 grandchildren Beverly Hingson husband Kelly of Brunswick, Pam Howell husband David of Patterson, Tina Corbitt husband Scott of Atkinson, Kim Johnson husband Anthony of Patterson, Barbee Smoot husband Barry of Kleen, Texas, Timmy King wife Peggy of Blackshear, Angie Herrin husband Timmy of Blackshear, Robert Aspinwall of Blackshear, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren, a sister Evelyn Taylor of Waycross, and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held 2pm Wednesday in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Waters Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8pm at the funeral home.
