LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Isaac Aslett, 95, died Saturday at a hospital in Las Vegas after an extended illness.

He was born Aug. 16, 1888 in Bountiful, Utah, to George and Caroline Smith Aslett. His parents both immigrated from England. His mother died when he was four years old and his father died three years later. He and his sister, Annie, went to Lava Hot Springs to live with their older sister, Caroline Bower.

At a very early age, he took a position as a sheepherder. He followed this profession for a number of years, then he returned to Lava Hot Springs. He filed on a homestead in Fish Creek. At his homestead, he built his own cabin and all his furniture. He served in World War I and was injured.

On Sept. 19, 1945, he married Anna Tilotson Watson. She died in December 1945.

He worked at the Green and White Trailer Court for a number of years. He enjoyed fishing and animals.

For the last seven years, he resided with his step-daughter, Lois Meyers, in Las Vegas.

Survivors include two step-sons, Eldon and Dwight Watson, both of Boise; two step-daughters, Lois Myers, Las Vegas; Donna King, Canoga Park, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; four brothers, George, Charles, James and David; and three sisters, Caroline, Rebecca and "Annie."

Funeral services will be at the LDS Church in Lava Hot Springs 12 p.m. Friday with Bishop Wallace Whitehead officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday between 7 and 8 p.m. at Manning Funeral Chapel. On Friday, friends may call at the Lava Hot Springs LDS Church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Lava Hot Springs American Legion Post No. 88.
