Louise Ashton, 102, Laconia, died Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.

Born March 12, 1912, in Elizabeth, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie and True Huffman Rooksby.

She was a member of Laconia United Presbyterian Church, the Laconia Homemakers Club, the Royal Neighbors of America in Laconia and the Order of the Eastern Star Old Capitol Chapter No. 467 in Corydon.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Milton Ashton; two sons, John Maurice Ashton and Claud Atwood Ashton; a granddaughter, Nancy Biddle; three brothers; and seven sisters.

Survivors include three daughters, Sue Ellen Jones of Jeffersonville, Patricia Biddle of Corydon and Eleanor Faye Palmer of Laconia; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 38 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Wednesday, March 11, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday, March 12, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

Funeral: Thursday, March 12, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Rehoboth Cemetery near Laconia.

Officiant: Pastor Sharon Kutz-Mellem.

Pallbearers: Michael and Bob Biddle, Marc and Todd Ashton and David, Kevin and Marvin Crosier.

The family suggests memorial gifts to the Laconia United Presbyterian Church or Rehoboth Cemetery.
