Orpha was the daughter of Justus Ashmun and Keziah Morse/Moss of Blandford, MA. Her father was a local VIP and owned the Corner Tavern (as discussed in the book "Taverns and Turnpikes of Blandford") Personal family papers (handwritten in the early 1800s) list Orpha's birthdate as July 9, 1786. Her death is listed as Aug. 17, 1814, at Blandford, MA. However, this location may be an error. Most, if not all, of the family, including her widowed mother, left Blandford about 1807 (when Orpha was about 21) and went to live in Northampton, MA, with Orpha's brother Eli. It is hard to know if she moved with them or stayed in Blandford. In either case, she was buried with family members in Northampton.
