Born in Spokane, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Roy Martin and Florence Palmer Williams and widow of Green Heyward "Buck" Ashmore.
Mrs. Ashmore was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Betsy Reilly and husband, Richard Shroyer, of London, Ontario, Canada; one son, R. Timothy Reilly and wife, Mary, of Alameda, Calif.; one stepson, Charles Ashmore and wife, Anne, of Greer; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Betty Mann.
The family would like to extend special thanks to "Lucky", her beloved, once feral cat, who was a great companion over the last seven years. Great appreciation is extended by the family to the staff of Brighton Gardens of Greenville for giving Mom three very happy and carefree years, to Valerie Lokey of Geriatric Resource Services and The Lutheran Hospice for bringing care, comfort and dignity to her during her last months.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held Monday at 6 p.m at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be held in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 3710 Augusta Rd., Greenville, SC 29605.
