Born to Elihu Martin Ashley (1825-1900) & his second wife, Delila Jane Jones Ashley (1827-1903).

David married Selina Josephine Beall (1870-1956) on Dec. 17, 1890, in Copiah County, MS. He was a mailman and furniture manufacturer in Ashley, MS.
