Mrs. Clara Ashley, 85, a well known resident of South Water Street, died Tuesday night at her home after an illness of five weeks. She was a lifelong resident of Ogdensburg, and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Robinson. Her husband died 14 years ago.

Surviving Mrs, Ashley are four sons, Alexander, Eugene, Henry and School Commissioner Augustus Ashley; two brothers who reside in Toledo, O.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 7:30 o'clock from the residence at 931 South Water Street and at Notre Dame Church at 8 o'clock. Interment will be at "Notre Dame Cemetery.
