Born in Bogart, Ga., he was the son of the late Emory S. and Ellen Grizzle Ashe.
A U.S. Army veteran, he was a recipient of a Purple Heart and a battle field commission during World War II. He was former owner and operator of Triangle Amoco Service Station and a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the V.F. W.
Surviving are 4 daughters; a son; 2 sisters; a brother; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held. Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, is in charge of arrangements.
