CALDWELL — Clem Dean Ashcraft, 32, of 1313 Belmont street, a resident of Caldwell for most of his life, died Friday afternoon in a local hospital after an illness of a month.
Mr. Ashcraft was born Aug. 21, 1927, in Matheson, Colo., and moved with his parents to Caldwell in 1929. He attended schools here and, with the exception of a brief time spent on the Oregon and Washington coasts lived here the remainder of his life. He was married May 20, 1953, in Caldwell to Agnes Fuqua. He had been working as a construction laborer.
Surviving in addition to Mrs. Ashcraft are two sons, Walter Dean and Donald Ray, both at home; his mother, Mrs. Alice Ashcraft of Caldwell; two brothers, Arthur of Caldwell and Richard of Hanford, Calif., and four sisters, Mrs. Arthur Runyan and Mrs. Don Gipe, both of Caldwell, Mrs. Sam Dunning of Delores, Colo., and Mrs. Warren Ryan of Hesperia, Calif. The Peckham-Dakan-Davis, chapel is arranging services.
