Laura May Ashbaugh Argo, was born near St. Joseph, Mo., May 20, 1861.

She departed this life at Independence, Kansas, September 27, 1937, at the age of seventy-six years, four months and seven days.

At the age of eleven she removed to Montgomery county, Kansas, the family settling near Elk City. She made her home in this same community most of her life, Independence being her home for the last twelve years.

On October 4, 1891, she was united in marriage to Isaac M. Argo.

To this union were born four children. A son and daughter died in infancy. Her husband preceded her in death passing away March 4, 1935.

She is survived by two sons, Victor and David and a grandson, John, all of Independence.

She was a member of the Methodist church from her early girlhood and a faithful and devoted Christian to the end.
A loving mother, good neighbor, true friend, she will be missed by those who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at the Grace M.E. church Tuesday afternoon with the pastor, and the former pastor, Rev. A.C. Stewart, officiating. Interment was in the White cemetery near Lafontaine.
