CUMBERLAND,MARYLAND -- Amos Ash died at his home in Cumberland Saturday afternoon. He was aged seventy-six years, seven months and four days.

The deceased was born in Southampton township, this county. In 1853 he moved to Flintstone, Md. Having acquired a competence as a farmer, he retired in 1896 and took up his residence in Cumberland. In 1851 he was married to Miss Emily Willison who died on August 10, 1889.

He is survived by three sisters and one brother - Mrs. Clarissa Sliger, of Cumberland Valley; Mrs. Hulda Cooper, of Kansas; Mrs. Linnie Robinson, of Ohio, and Abram Ash, of Kansas. Seven children also survive him, namely Mrs. John W. Boor, Erl, Edwin F., Luther, Lee H., Minnie and Bertha, all of whom reside in Cumberland except Erl, who lives in Fostoria, 0hio. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at Fairview M. P. church.

Interment was made in the Odd Fellows' cemetery near Flintstone.
