He was born March 4, 1908, in West Union, West Virginia, to Joseph and Grace Ashburn. He served in the U.S. Army in the 141st Battalion in the 36th Infantry Div in the T-Patch Company. He retired from Gulf Oil Company in 1971. He was also active in the Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Maudie Ashburn.
Survivors include great-neice Marlene Lybarger and a host of other loved one and friends.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2004, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
