Daniel Aeschliman [sic] dies at rest home

Daniel Aeschliman, 94, of Vera Cruz, a retired farmer, died at 10:10 a.m. Thursday at the Cooper rest home in Bluffton after an illness of five weeks.

Born in Wells county Jan. 12, 1878, he was a son of Simon and Mattie Kaehr-Aeschliman, and was married in 1904 to Matilda Michel, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Aeschliman was a member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ at Vera Cruz.

Surviving are two sons, Clarence Aeschliman of Fort Wayne, and Gerald Aeschliman of Vera Cruz; a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Violet) Oswalt of Wakarusa route 1; a brother, Noah Aeschliman of Bluffton; five sisters, Mrs. Aldine Heyerly and Mrs. Mary Fiechter, both of Bluffton, Mrs. Delphia Reinhard of Bluffton rural route, Mrs. Joe L. Isch and Mrs. Dula Gerber, both of Bluffton route 4; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Goodwin funeral home in Bluffton, where friends may call after 7 p.m. today.
