SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Marie (Aschenbrenner) Allen, 68, of 75 Pheland Ave., died suddenly on Sunday. Born in Czechoslovakia, she resided in Springfield since 1959. She had once been employed by Chemi-Graphic Co. of Ludlow and the former F.W. Sickles Co. of Chicopee. She was an active communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church and an avid Red Sox fan. She is survived by her husband, Walter T. Allen, Sr., and his son Walter T. Allen, Jr.; two sisters, Anna Kendlinger and Rosie Stuttrucker, both of Germany; and her beloved grandchildren, Zachery, Cody, Seth and Samuel Allen, all of Springfield. Marie was predeceased by two sons, Donald R. and Steven Allen. The Funeral is Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Byron Funeral Home, 1858 Allen St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. Burial is at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2-5 p.m. For directions and guest book, please visit www.bhrfh.com.
