She was born February 23, 1911 in Vernal, Utah to John Morris Johnstun and Alzina Jannett Smithson Johnstun. She married Seth Burns Asay February 4, 1929 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had nine children, 52 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and several step grandchildren.
Lora was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served three missions with her husband, and also served as a temple ordinance worker for three years. After her husband, Seth, passed away in 1998, she moved to Sandy, Utah where her son-in-law, John, and daughter, Utahna Versluis, have taken care of her to the present time.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, March 13, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. at the Sandy Stake Center, 9331 S. 300 E., Sandy, Utah. A Viewing was held Friday, March 12, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at the Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State, Midvale, and again Saturday from 8:00-9:15 a.m., prior to the services, at the Stake Center. Interment was on Saturday. at 5:30 p.m. in Southern Utah at the Georgetown Cemetery, south of Cannonville,
