FORTVILLE – Carol J. (Fields) Arthur, age 80, of Fortville, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born on June 20, 1935 in Indianapolis as the daughter of Alton T. Fields and Ruth C. (Burton) Allen.
She was a caregiver for the elderly in their homes for many years and had attended of The Church of God in Ingalls.
Carol is survived by her children, Russell Dean Graham of Hawaii, Richard Eugene Arthur, Jr. of Indianapolis, Jeffrey Hayden Arthur of Indianapolis, Robert Lee Arthur of Indianapolis Barbara Jean Arthur of Greenfield and Rhonda Lou Arthur; brother, Billy Jr. Blevins of Morgantown; sister, Deloris Canter of Greenfield and Betty Lou Preston of Greenwood; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alton T. Fields and Ruth C. (Burton) Allen; brothers, Samuel Russell Blevins and Johnny Joe Blevins; grandparents; and sister, Marcia Allen.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
