Mrs. Arthur was born July 20, 1937 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Melvin David Worth and Louise VanDerVear Worth.
She was the widow of George Edward (Eddie) Arthur.
She retired from Burlington Industries after 40 years of service and was very active with the Glasgow Moose Lodge.
Surviving are two daughters: Edwina Arthur Shafer and husband, Jerry of Lexington; and Glenna Arthur Taylor of Glasgow; a brother, Eddie Worth and wife, Teresa of Floyd; five grandchildren and their spouses: heather and Jimmy Floyd, Celine and Mike Ruley, Travis and Katherina Taylor, Tara and Jodi Bryant, and Melissa and Jason Camden; seven great grandchildren: Carley Camden, Denny Bryant, Evana nd Madelyn Floyd, Jackson Ruley, Charles Bryant, Lilly Taylor; and numerous other family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Dr. Brian Weber oficiating. Burial will follow in the Glasgow Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
