SUNBURY -
Constance L. "Connie" Arter, 57, of Market Street, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at the home of her sister on Water Street, Northumberland.
She was born April 20, 1952, in Sunbury, a daughter of Kenneth L. and Catherine M. (Jablonski) Arter, of Northumberland.
Connie was a 1970 graduate of Shikellamy High School.
After graduation, Connie began employment with Rea & Derick, later CVS, in Northumberland. She retired in November after 22 years of service with Geisinger Medical Center in the data center and later with Geisinger Health Plan, Danville.
Connie enjoyed listening to soft rock music including Celine Dion, Celtic Women and Amy Grant; reading, including poetry by Helen Steiner Rice; crocheting; knitting; and attending local crafts fairs. She was known as a positive person with strong faith who enjoyed laughing and caring very much for others.
In addition to her parents, Connie is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia A. and Steven Taylor, of Northumberland; two nieces, Ashley C. Taylor, of Portland, Ore., and Shana M. Taylor, of Sunbury; one great-niece, Ella M. Taylor-Bard; several aunts and uncles; and her beloved dog, MeiLing.
Friends and family may visit from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, Northumberland, where a memorial service will be conducted at 2 with Father Ted Keating officiating.
Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.
