LeRoy M. Arter, 59, Littlestown R.1, died Saturday afternoon at 2:15 in the Hanover General Hospital. He was a furniture factory employe.
Mr. Arter was a veteran of World War II and served in the Navy. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Littlestown.
He was a son of Edgar L. and Carrie (Leppo) Arter, Littlestown R.2. Surviving besides his parents are his wife, Marie Boweers Arter; a son, John L. Arter, Littlestown, a step-son, Harry E. Brown, Grandfield, Okla' four grandchildren and these brothers and sisters; Lester A. Arter, Flint Mich.; Kenneth, Washington, D.C.; Clair, Hanover; Robert, Littlestown, Mrs. Daniel Hinton, Hattiesburg, Miss.; and Mrs, Melvin Coshun, Gettysburg.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Little Funeral Home in Littlestown, with the Rev. Samuel A. garrett, pastor of Bethel Assembly of God Church, officiating. Interment will be made in the Piney Creek Cemetery, near Taneytown.
Military rites will be in charge of the VFW.
