MARTINSVILLE MORNING POST, Martinsville, Va., Mon., May 3, 1937, p. 7, col. 3 [edited]. Mrs. Anna Dillard Arrington, 81, of Danville, a sister of the late Mrs. Sam C. Ford of Martinsville, and member of an old and distinguished Virginia family, died Friday morning in a Danville hospital following several months decline in health. The deceased was a daughter of the late Col. Overton Redd Dillard and Mrs. Sallie Hughes Martin. She was born at "Greenwood", ancestral home of the noted Virginia family in Henry county. She was a great granddaughter of the late General Joseph Martin, for whom Martinsville is named. Surviving is one brother, Col. John Redd Dillard, United State Army, retired. She often visited relatives and friends in Martinsville. Funeral services were held from the late home in Danville Saturday, with interment following in Green Hill Cemetery. [Ref.
