MANGHAM, LA - Services for Mr. Donald Ray Arrant, age 65, of Mangham, LA were at 2:00 PM Monday, July 1, 2002 at Calvary Baptist Church near Mangham with Rev. J. W. Allen and Rev. Johnny Mathis officiating. Burial was in Hewitt Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville.
Mr. Arrant was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a retired mechanic. He was preceded in death by his father, "Slim" Arrant.
Survivors include two children, daughter, Marlena and husband Dennis Cox and their three children, Tamara, Dalton and Kadee son, Brian Arrant and Crystal Drewry and son Austin; special companion, Doris Allen; mother, Edna Arrant; three sisters, Johnnie Sue Powell and husband Aubie, Kathleen Weed, and Peggy Sproles; Doris's children, Sherry and Frank Smith and two children, Frank, Jr. and Crystal, Billy Joe and Cassie Mercer and two children, Christina and Cody, and Glen Mercer and two children, Travis and Russell and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Eddie Erwin, Frank Smith, Sr., Frank Smith, Jr., Randy Week, Todd Weed, and Paul Slayter.
Honorary pallbearers were Shawn Carter, Jerry Simmons, Kenneth Hill, Joe Banks, Sambo and Sammy Hixon, and Travis Stephenson.
Visitation was at Calvary Baptist Church near Mangham.
