Jeanne Arpin, 91, of Smithfield, formerly of Cranston, died Monday, October 22, 2012. Born in Providence, she was the last of 15 children of the late John J. and Mary B. (Sheridan) Wendell. She had lived in Smithfield for the past four years.
During WWII, Jeanne worked for the Department of the Navy as a cryptologist. Later, she was a product demonstrator for General Electric, and she worked at Kaplan's Jewelers before retiring.
She is survived by her son, M. Robert Arpin, of Englewood, FL; her grandchildren, Michelle Begina, JD Arpin, Colleen Desjarlais, Heather Woodward; seven great-grandchildren, Daniel Arpin, Ashley and Nicholas Desjarlais, Alex and Nicholas Begina and Tyler and Braelyn Woodward; and her son-in-law, Robert Caldwell.
