Leonard Eugene Arp, 56, of Carrollton, died June 21, 1993, at the Independence Regional Health Center in Independence. He was born March 10, 1937 in Mendon to Herbert and Myrtis Riley Arp.
He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1956. He was married to Jean Kay Buford in January, 1974. She survives at the home.
He owned and operated Hi-Style Lettered Sportswear, Inc. in Carrollton.
Having begun the business in Independence in 1965, he moved the operation to Carrollton in 1977. He also opened the Bosworth factory in 1973. He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Chariton County and was a Mason and a member of the Ararat Shrine.
Other survivors include his parents of Mendon; a daughter, Tiffany of the home; two stepchildren, Troy Howell and Shawn Howell, both of Carrollton; five brothers, Marvin Arp, Brunswick, Arnold Arp, Kansas City, Kansas, Clifford Arp, Moberly, Herbert Herschel Arp and Norman Arp, both of Independence; and a sister, Treva Friesz, Keytesville.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 24 at Gibson-Rice Chapel in Carrollton, conducted by the Rev. Roger Davis. Burial was in Elliott Grove Cemetery, Brunswick.
The family suggests contributions to the Zion United Methodist Church in the memory of Mr. Arp.
