Funeral services were held on
Monday afternoon from Bedle‘s fun-
eral parlors for Arthur Arose, 56,
who was found dead in his boat
while being towed from the clam-
beds last Friday afternoon.
One of his companion clammers
called for Mr. Arose to look at the
Hindenberg which was passing over
the water at that time and upon re-
ceiving node response, asked the cap-
tain to stop and investigate. It was
thought that Mr. Arose suffered a
heart attack. The man for lunch was
found open and in his hand was an
unfinished sandwich.
Mr. Arose had lived in Keyport all
his life and was the son of Priscilla
Arose and the late John Henry
Arose. Also surviving is a daughter,
Mrs. Florence Pearce of Newark:
three brothers, William of this bor-
ough; Lester of Vineland and Ed-
Ward of Greenport.
For many years the deceased was
employed as an engineer at the Louis
Stults ice plant here.
The funeral services were in,
chart of the Rev. William R. Ros-
sell pastor of the First Baptist
church and interment in Green
Grove Cemetery was under the direc-
tion of H. S Bedle.
