From the WW1 Draft Registration Card, September 12, 1918: Maurice Nelson Arnsparger, 38, of RFD 4, Hagerstown, Maryland, was born December 25, 1879. He was employed by the Western Maryland Railway in Hagerstown, Maryland. His nearest relative was Laura Lee Arnsbarger, his wife, of the same address. He was short in height, slender in build, with dark eyes and black hair.


From the WW2 Draft Registration Card, 1942: Maurice Nelson Arnsparger, 62, of Cearfoss Pike, Washington County, Maryland, was born December 25, 1879, in Frederick County, Maryland. The person who would always know his address was Mrs. H. E. Forsythe of 1539 Salem Avenue, Hagerstown. He was not employed.

"Maurice N. Arnsparger. Maurice Nelson Arnsparger, 1359 Salem Avenue, died at the Washington County Hospital on Wednesday at 2:05 a.m. after an illness of 27 days, aged 81 years. Born and reared in Sabillasville, he was the son of James and Elizabeth (Eby) Arnsparger. He had resided in Hagerstown for approcimately 70 years where he had been employed for 55 years with the Western Maryland Railroad. He retired in 1945 as a conductor. He was a member of the First Christian Church, the Wagaman Bible Class and the Connor Lodge No. 502, Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Laura H. Forsythe, Hagerstown, brother, Ross Arnsparger, Hagerstown; sister, Mrs. Florence Lankford, Hagerstown two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, and one step-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at the Suter-Rouzer Funeral Home Saturday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. John DuVal. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening from 7-9."
