Algerine Arnold passed away on February 22, 2007 peacefully after a brief illness.

Born August 4, 1926 in Waveland MS but a longtime resident of Baton Rouge.

Survived by sons and daughter in law Riston and Beth Arnold and Richard and Liz Arnold, Daughters and son in law Mary and Jerry Glover, Amy and John Maloney, Sister and brother in law Mattie and D.W. North, 4 grandchildren, Melissa Pedigo, Ronnie Creel, Erin Glover, Alex Arnold. 6 great grandchildren Ashley, Brantly, Brittany Creel, Shelby, Luke, Faith Pedigo; 2 adopted great grandchildren Shania and Issac Campbell; 2 nieces Marilyn Nelson, and Bea Brown.

She was preceded in death by her husband Riston Arnold Sr. in 1966, also her parents Richard and Mary Riggs and 2 sisters Audrey Davis and Irma Mae Cuevas, and niece Myrthee North.

Mrs. Arnold devoted her life to caring and loving children as a widower for 41 years she was a wonderful loving mother grandmother and great grandmother she also spent several decades serving the Lord by caring and nurturing hundreds of children in her work in the nursery and day-care at Comite Baptist Church.

She was a gentle quiet and loving person and always put the need of others before herself her family and friends will deeply miss her loving presents but are thankful for the many years she was her with us.

In Lieu of flowers contributions in her honor can be made to Comite Baptist Church nursery. A special piece of play equipment will be purchased for the children in her memory. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday February 24, 2007 at the Greenoaks funeral Home and Sunday February 25, 2007 1:00 p.m. until religious services at 2:00 p.m. at the Comite Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Dale Phillips.

Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
