Was elected Gold Hill town Marshall from 1860-63, he then went to work for the Wells Fargo Company in 1863 and was stationed in San Francisco CA on their Behalf,
While Living there he took sick and Died of Brain Fever on Dec. 15th 1864.
His Body was Shipped home on the Virginia & Truckee RR and he was burried in the Gold Hill Cemetery on Dec. 20th 1864

The Photo of his knocked over grave stone was taken in Sept. 2001. It is hoped by the writer that the ghost of Samuel Arnold haunts the dreams of the Dastards who get a sick pleasure out of knocking over grave stones.
