Elizabeth Lucile Arnold, 89, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Heritage Pointe in Warren.
Born in Bluffton on January 22, 1919 to Oscar K. and Verna C. (Lambert) Arnold.
She was a bookkeeper at Fritz Electric Co. for 38 years, retiring in 1983. A graduate of Bluffton High School, she was active in her church, First United Methodist in Bluffton, and her community. She was a member and Past Matron of the Crescent Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, and a member of the Past Matron's Club. She was secretary of the Bluffton office of the American Red Cross, performed volunteer work for them as well as the Wells Community Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include a nephew, Ed Higgins, and a niece, Marilyn Vanden Top, both of Bluffton.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Roger, Kenneth and Charles Arnold; and a sister, Evelyn Higgins.
Calling hours are Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home. An Eastern Star memorial service will be conducted by the Crescent Chapter at 7 p.m. this evening. Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Cindy Osgood officiating.
Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to the First United Methodist Church Music Department.
