Rev. Alfred E. Arnold, 72 years of Sarasota, FL ascended into Heaven Saturday, December 8, 2001 at his residence.
He was born on April 10, 1929 in Pontiac, MI the son of the late Alfred E. and Cora M. (Yarger) Arnold.
Alfred married his lovely wife Veda E. (Jones) Arnold on December 24, 1950. He was a World War II veteran of the US Navy. He served as Pastor of the Pines Nursing Facility in Sarasota, FL for the past three years. Prior to moving to Sarasota Veda and Alfred were members of the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Aurora, IL as well as Pastors at the Aurora Manor Nursing Home for a period of ten years. No matter where Alfed was or what situation he was in, he always pronounced his love for our Lord Jesus Christ, and his belief that Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins that we may have life everlasting. His light was a bright one that has been viewed by many people that had a special need in their life.
Alfred is survived by his wife Veda of Sarasota, FL; his daughter, Sandra (John) Pounds of Sandwich, IL; his son, Daniel (Vicki) Arnold of Sarasota, FL; his daughter, Catherine (Martin) Maxwell of San Diego, CA; his son Alfred E. (Brenda) Arnold, III of Sarasota, FL; his daughter, Veda (Michael) Miller of Big Rock, IL; his sister, Dorothy Hail of Lake Orion, MI; 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Vera Wall, Catherine Schlapp and a brother, Donald Arnold.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 13, 2001 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the McKEOWN-DUNN FUNERAL HOME, Ltd., at 210 S. Madison St. in Oswego, IL.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 14, 2001 at 10:00 A.M. at the West Prairie Worship Center at 39W550 Prairie St. in Aurora, IL with Pastor Henry H,. Smith and Rev. Jessie Wiggins, Pastor of the Church of God of Bethalto, IL officiating.
