Barbara is survived by her daughters and sons-in-laws, Linda Hartsfield-Briscoe (Allen) of Canton; Sue Hartsfield Cool (Mark) of Cartersville; son, Tim Hartsfield of Cartersville; grandsons and granddaughter-in-law, Christopher Lusk (Leighanne) of Loganville; Casey Lusk of Cartersville; great granddaughters, Meredith and Isabelle Lusk of Loganville; special daughter and son-in-law Dale Arnold Denham (Ennis) of Cartersville; special son and daughter-in-law Mike Lusk (Rita) of Cartersville; friend and Hope Center buddy Elaine Williams of Euharlee; friend and caregiver Annette Dutton of Cartersville; and her beloved pet Daisy.
Barbara was a member of Euharlee Baptist Church. She retired from Walmart in 1998. Prior to working at Walmart, she and CJ operated a dairy farm for several years. In 2009 she returned to Walmart where she worked part-time until her illness in July 2012. Barbara enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning, quilting, flowers, crocheting, making cakes and pies for family and friends, and loved watching the Atlanta Braves baseball games. Her greatest joys in life were her grandsons and her great granddaughters.
Visitation will be held Tuesday May 27, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends starting at 10:00 a.m. the day of the service. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens; Pastor Keith Dempsey will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Chris Lusk, Casey Lusk, Allen Briscoe, Mark Cool, Mike Lusk, and Ennis Denham. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Coleman, Glen Hall, Ricky Darnell, Jimmy Head, and Garmon Oates.
The family wishes to thank Dr. David Kim and his staff, the Radiology Department staff at Cartersville Medical Center, The Hope Center staff for their care and kindness during Barbara's illness and treatments, and to the staff of Journey Home Hospice for their loving care during her final days.
