Anna L. Arnold, 86, died Friday, May 6, 2011 at Manor Care Health Services South. She was the wife of Lewis W. Arnold, Jr., who died January 30, 1992.
Born July 29, 1924, in West York, a daughter of the late John and Sallie (Frantz) Loucks.
She was a 1942 graduate of West York High School. She graduated from Philadelphia General Hospital School of Nursing in 1945, Millersville University in 1967, and completed graduate studies at Penn State University. She was employed at Perry Point, Maryland Veterans Hospital for a year; York VNA for 10 years; and West York High School, where she was school nurse for 26 years. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ since 1951, where she taught Sunday School for 25 years in the Primary Department. She also taught children in Bible School, and was a member of the Ladies' Circle and Consistory, serving as deacon and elder. She enjoyed and loved her Church family. She was a member of Millersville University Alumni; Dallastown Business and Professional Women's Club; The College Club of York County; York County Retired School Employees; PA Association of School Retirees; St. James Lutheran Seniors Group; Half-Century Fellowship at St. Matthew Lutheran Church; York County Heritage Trust Auxiliary; and York Symphony Orchestra Auxiliary.
Mrs. Arnold enjoyed dearly loved her children. She is survived by a daughter, Sally A. Jones and her husband, Steve; a son, Scott L. Arnold and his wife, Deborah; and grandsons, Scott L. Arnold, Jr. and Clark E. Arnold. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harvey Loucks, Frederick Loucks, and John Loucks, Jr.; and four sisters, Grace Loucks, Margaret Lehman, Fairy Lanningham, and Ada Julius.
Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
