She married Troy R. Arnold on April 28, 1933. They lived in Utah, California, Oregon and Idaho. Together they had three sons and two daughters, Ron, Roger, Janet, Judy and Robin.
Troy passed away April 16, 1968, in Oregon. Merle then moved back to Utah to be with her family.
Merle loved to study the Bible and loved her many friends she had at Kaysville Bible Church. She was a very sweet lady, and was a lady in every sense of the word.
Merle had many jobs, but mostly as a waitress. She had worked at the Four Leaf Clover Café and at Matties Café, before her retirement.
She loved her family above all, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was excited with each new birth. We all called her "Nana".
Merle is survived by her children; Ron (Suzanne) Arnold, Laketown, Roger (Elaine) Arnold, of West Haven, Janet (Ron) Gibson, Farr West, Judy (Gerry) White of Layton, Robin (Kathie) Arnold of Roy, Peggy Arnold, sister-in-law, California. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 35 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Troy, her brothers and sisters, a granddaughter Becky Arnold, a great-grandson Kasey Rohde, and daughter-in-law, Annette Arnold.
The family would like to thank the staff at Stoney Brooke Assisted Living and VistaCare Hospice for the wonderful loving care she received.
Graveside services will be held Friday, May 15, 2009, at 3:00 p.m., Ogden City Cemetery 1875 Monroe Blvd., Ogden, Utah. Family and friends may gather Friday at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. prior to services.
