A Mass of Christian burial for Elda Marie Arnold, 80, of Newark, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. Timothy Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Arnold, a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, died April 1, 2001, at the Flint Ridge Nursing Home. She was born March 12, 1921, in Pola, Italy, to the late Tullio and Maria Squarzolo.
Mrs. Arnold was a member of the Marian Club, PIME Guild 5, the Blessed Sacrament Choir, the Fruit of the Vine Prayer Group, the Altar Rosary Society, and was an active volunteer at church.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Barbara Arnold of Newark, and Dave and Sharon Arnold of Centerville; four grandchildren, Angie Deweese, April Arnold, Erin Arnold, and Kristina Arnold; three greatgrandchildren, Brayden, Chase and Aidan; one brother and sister-in-law, Alberto and Maria Squarzolo of Coniston, Canada; one sister and brother-in-law, Esterina and Luciano Biasin of Trieste, Italy; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Arnold, in 1990; and one brother, Mario Squarzolo.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Rosary service will be held at 8:30 p.m.
