Louie Arnold, 48, Whitney Police Chief, is buried
Whitney, Nov 16-spl-Funeral services for Louie Arnold, Whitney Chief of Police, were held at 3:00 PM Tuesday at Whitney Methodist Church. Rev. J. E. Morton and F. E. Weller officiated. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery near Whitney. Mr. Arnold died in a hospital here at 8:00 AM Monday from a heart ailment .He had been Chief of police at Whitney for the last four months. He was born in Hillsboro and moved to Whitney as a child. He married Miss Maude Halford in 1924.
After farming 18 years, Mr. Arnold became city marshall of Whitney and held that post for two years. He was a Hill County deputy sheriff for one year and a member of the Hillsboro police force seven years, and was former Hillsboro chief of police. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Methodist Church.
Survivors include his widow: his mother Avie Arnold of Brandon; four brothers, Homer Arnold of Fort Worth, Garland Arnold of Whitney, L. Q. Arnold of Baytown, Billy Arnold of McCamey; two sisters, Mrs. E. H. Brown of Brandon and Mrs. Juanita Arnold of Fort Worth.
