Norma Maria Frieda Ewert was born on July 23, 1913, in Pella, Wisconsin, to Friedrick and Anna (Schactschneider). She grew up there on the family dairy farm with her six siblings: Hulda Krueger, Regina Polzien, Frieda Kuelp, Emil,Walter and Viola Neitzke. Norma married Walter Herman Arndt on October 5, 1935, in Shawano County , Wisconsin. The couple owned and operated a farm in Dupont where they raised their son Marlin. Norma died on March 26, 1990, in Waupaca County , Wisconsin, at the age of 76, and was buried in Dupont, Wisconsin on Roseland Cemetery.
